Cookie Policy
The short version
edimulo currently stores a small amount of data in your own browser so it can keep you signed in, remember which profile you chose, and resume playback where you stopped. We do not currently run advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Clearing your browser storage for this site removes all of it.
1. What this covers
"Cookies" is the common shorthand, but this policy covers every technology that stores or
reads data on your device: HTTP cookies, browser localStorage and
sessionStorage, and similar mechanisms in our apps.
This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal data once we have it.
2. Why we store anything at all
Without local storage, the Service could not keep you signed in between pages, could not remember which profile is watching, and would restart every title from the beginning. Some storage is therefore strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for.
3. Categories we use
- Strictly necessary — sign-in, session, security and the profile you selected. These cannot be switched off in the Service, because it would stop working. Consent is not required for these under most laws.
- Functional — remembering playback position, My List, volume, subtitle and language preferences.
- Analytics — [not currently in use]. If added, they will be listed here and, where required, asked for by consent first.
- Advertising — [not currently in use]. edimulo does not currently serve third-party advertising or share data with ad networks.
4. Exactly what we store today
These are the actual keys the Service writes. You can inspect them yourself in your browser's developer tools under Application → Storage.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
edimulo.accounts.v1 |
localStorage | Registered accounts on this device. Passwords are held only as a salted hash. | Until cleared |
edimulo.session.v1 |
localStorage or sessionStorage | Keeps you signed in. Stored in localStorage if you tick "Keep me signed
in", otherwise in sessionStorage, which is discarded when you close the
tab. |
Until sign-out, or end of session |
edimulo.v1.<account> |
localStorage | Your profiles, the profile currently selected, My List, playback positions and recent searches — held separately per account. | Until cleared |
edimulo_studio |
Cookie (partner portal only) | Session cookie for edimulo Studio. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax,
and Secure when served over HTTPS. |
End of browser session |
Video files are streamed from a content delivery network. Your browser may cache parts of a video as part of normal playback; that cache is managed by your browser, not by us.
5. Third-party storage
edimulo currently sets no third-party cookies. Sample video used during the pre-launch period is served from third-party hosts, which may log the request in their own server logs as part of delivering the file.
When we add a payment provider, analytics, or social sign-in, those providers will set their own storage. We will update this table and, where consent is required, ask for it before any non-essential storage is set.
6. How to control or remove it
- Sign out — clears the session entry.
- Clear watch history — available in the account menu; removes playback positions and recently-watched entries for the current profile.
- Delete a profile — removes that profile's list and history.
- Clear site data in your browser — removes everything above. In most browsers: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data, or use the padlock icon in the address bar and choose to clear data for this site.
- Private / incognito window — everything is discarded when you close it.
Clearing storage signs you out and loses your local list and playback positions. Strictly necessary storage cannot be refused while continuing to use the Service.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not currently run cross-site tracking, there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. If we introduce advertising or cross-site analytics, we will honour recognised opt-out signals where the law requires it, and say so here.
8. Changes
We will update this policy whenever the storage we use changes. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
